Terms of Service

Effective September 2026

These terms govern your use of Tallied, a time-tracking and invoicing service accessible from AI assistants (like Claude and ChatGPT) and from the web app at https://withtallied.com/app. By connecting to or using Tallied, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You need a Tallied account to use the service, created by signing in with Google or with a magic link sent to your email — there's no password. You're responsible for keeping access to that email or Google account secure; anyone who can sign in as you can act as you within Tallied, including through any AI assistant you've connected.

Acceptable use

Use Tallied for legitimate time tracking and invoicing. Don't use it to send fraudulent invoices, to harass or impersonate a third party, to store data you don't have the right to store, or to abuse the service (excessive automated requests, attempts to access another workspace's data, etc.). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; your plan stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for. We do not provide refunds for partial months.

Invoices and payments

Tallied lets you create and send invoices to your own clients, optionally with a Stripe payment link. We are not a party to the transaction between you and your client — we provide the tool that generates and delivers the invoice and, where enabled, route the payment link through Stripe Connect, which settles funds to your own connected account. You are solely responsible for the tax, legal, and factual correctness of any invoice you create or send, including amounts, tax rates, and required disclosures in your jurisdiction.

AI assistant usage

You control what any connected AI assistant does with your Tallied data. In particular:

Sending an invoice requires your explicit approval in the conversation. No invoice is emailed to a client unless you've reviewed it and told the assistant to send it.
The assistant asks you to resolve ambiguity (for example, an unclear project name) rather than guessing.
We are not liable for an assistant misinterpreting your instructions, mis-transcribing a duration, or otherwise acting incorrectly on data you provided. Review drafts before asking the assistant to send anything. If something was sent in error, you can void an unpaid invoice from within Tallied.

Your data

You own the time entries, clients, projects, and invoices you create. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how it's used. You can request deletion of your workspace at any time.

Termination

You may stop using Tallied and delete your workspace at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violating these terms, non-payment on a paid plan, or if required by law. On termination, outstanding subscription charges remain due.

Disclaimer of warranties

Tallied is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that invoice totals, tax calculations, or currency conversions will be free of error — review them before relying on them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tallied and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenue, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Tallied is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction — fill in before publishing], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; we'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
